Star Wars blockade runner part of Profiles in History Comic-Con booth

McCuneOscarPremier Entertainment and Historical Document auction house, Profiles in History will once again be presenting an amazing display of original movie props and items at their 2015 San Diego Comic Con Booth #1605, July 8 – 12, Wed thru Sunday in San Diego.

This year Profiles is paying tribute to Academy Award winning special effects master, Grant McCune as they present McCune Masterworks at the convention. Profiles is devoting its entire Comic-Con booth to McCune’s vast career featuring the original, screen-used, Star Wars IV: A New Hope 18″ filming miniature “Blockade Runner,” used in the films opening scene carrying Princess  Leia, C-3PO and R2-D2 among its crew.  Comic-Con fans will be treated to this rare opportunity to see this iconic piece of movie history up close and personal. The ship has not been seen or displayed publicly for close to 40 years. Mr. McCune, was the Chief Model Maker for Star Wars and was one of the primary members of the team that won the 1978 Academy Award® for Best Visual Effects for the film. His Oscar® will also be on display !

In addition to the “Blockade Runner,” the McCune Masterworks display will also feature a production made “X-Jet” miniature from X-Men 2 and a German U-Boat filming miniature from U-571

A portion of the auction’s proceeds will help fund the upcoming Grant McCune Foundation providing scholarships to young model makers and designers.
