One of the biggest and most popular vendors at San Diego Comic Con is Funko. Each year thousands of Funko fans try for tickets to purchase items at their booth as well as a shot at the elusive tickets to Funko’s annual event, Funko Fundays.
Funko Fundays is a huge party and celebration of everything Funko, for Funko fans. There are contests, food, and amazing giveaways with a number of prizes, themed Freddy Funko pops, and more. Everyone who attends is guaranteed to walk away with some very cool, creative, and limited edition Funko products. Attendees receive a “Box of Fun” which includes rare and exclusive Funko Pops, prototypes, the list goes on. Over the course of the party which includes food and drink. Funko Fanatics are also treated to exciting entertainment, dancing, singing, and sueprises.
Every Fundays features a theme. This years is still a mystery, but the good folks at Funko teased fans with this: “Fantastic Intergalactic Superhero Circus! A night of fun and illumination!!” Hmmm, what does that mean?
Here’s a cool video of San Diego Comic Con’s 2016 Funko Fundays which had a cool Willie Wonka Theme. Wow:
This year Funko announced they would be posting a link on their Facebook and Twitter pages at 10:00 am PST on Wednesday, May 17th. There were a very limited amount of tickets available and every year these desired tickets sell out quicker and quicker.
2017 was no different than previous years and tickets appeared to be sold out literally within a few seconds as I can personally attest to. I was refreshing Funko’s Twitter page a few minutes before 1:00 pm EST and as soon as the link went live I clicked. Within 6 or 7 seconds I was finished with my cart yet when I hit purchase, I was told the tickets were sold out 🙁 . I of course chose to be placed on the wait-list even though many people told me I’ll never get called. Hey, you never know unless you try I always say 😉 .
Congratulations to the lucky few who snagged tickets. From what I hear you will definitely have a FUN time 🙂 .
