The bridge featured in the 1983 Sylvester Stalone hit, Rambo: First Blood is due to be replaced by a new bridge on May 27th in the town of Hope B.C. where the scene and much of the film was shot.
The lumber used to build the bridge contains a chemical called Creosote, which is an environmental concern to the Coquihalla River it is built over.
More can be found about this on YouTube, and articles from GlobalBC , The VanCouver Sun, and the net.

Another film artifact about to disappear. The wood should be salvaged and re-used in a more environmentally friendly fashion. Maybe all of us Rambo fans can request a small piece of the wood as a keepsake?
